RISE AT SEVEN
DEVELOPING A TEACHABLE, REPEATABLE STRATEGY PROCESS
In the fast-paced world of Rise at Seven, I’ve spent my time working on big-name clients, developing multi-platform search strategies, while within the agency, developing a teachable, repeatable strategy process that would give us a strong foundation to pivot with the ever-changing search landscape.

Building client relationships and delivering organic growth strategies from day one.
Defining strategies across retail, B2B, energy, sport, health, fashion and beauty. New business pitching and supporting business development with strategic insights.
Evolving the Rise strategy process. Multi-platform strategies across SEO, digital PR, content and social. Mentorship and training across internal teams.
The Challenge
WHY BRANDS COME TO RISE
Most brands arrive with the same core problem: they want to lead their category. I’ve worked with brands across retail, B2B, energy, sport, health, fashion and beauty, and the brief is almost always the same: make us more visible, make us more relevant to our audience, and make the work make sense to our wider business.
The challenge is rarely just technical. It’s cultural. It means getting internal teams to think about search holistically rather than as a single channel. My experience working in-house has helped me develop a trusted voice when speaking with internal teams.
The Approach
A STRATEGY PROCESS BUILT FOR MODERN SEARCH
I took the original Rise strategy process as a foundation and developed it for a search landscape that is constantly changing. Search is no longer just Google, it’s TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, AI overviews and everything in between.
The process ties together four key channel pillars: SEO, content, social media and digital PR into one connected ecosystem. Each pillar feeds the others. Social data informs content. Content earns links. Links build authority. Authority drives rankings. Rankings build brand.
The technical and on-page foundation everything else is built on. Without this, nothing else matters.
Content that answers real questions, in the right format, on the right platform, not just blog posts for Google.
Treating social platforms as search engines — optimising content so it appears when and where your audience is looking.
Building authority and trust through external signals. Earned coverage, expert commentary and brand mentions that search engines and AI trust and developing how the agency reports on it.
Tools & Visualisation
MAKING SEARCH MAKE SENSE
One of the biggest challenges in search strategy is helping brands understand the opportunity in front of them. Everyone has access to the same data, but the art of good strategy is the story you can tell with that data. I’ve developed a number of tools, processes and ways to visualise the search landscape that help brands see clearly what they could own, what they’re missing, and what needs to change.
These aren’t off-the-shelf templates. They’re built around each brand’s specific category, audience and competitive landscape. I’m a firm believer that while automation and templates can speed up processes, this shouldn’t be at the expense of data quality and the experience that determines the outcome.
Training & Mentorship
PUTTING SEARCH THEORY AT THE HEART OF CHANNEL TEAM ACTIVATION
A strategy is only as good as the team that delivers it. Alongside client-facing strategy work, I help internal Rise teams understand how their specialist work, whether that’s digital PR, social or content, ladders into the wider search strategy and the impact that work can have on our clients goals.
This means better briefs, better work, and results that compound over time rather than sitting in silos.
Alongside mentorship, I’ve supported business development teams with strategic insights for new business pitches — helping Rise win some of their largest retained clients.
