I firmly believe that modern search is the art of tying together search strategies across SEO, content marketing, social media, and feeding into the core brand goal of being more discoverable wherever the user starts their journey.

Taking the original Rise strategy process as a foundation and helping to develop it for a changing search landscape. Crafting multi-platform search strategies across SEO, digital PR, content and social media. Helping brands understand how search works across multiple platforms and can help future-proof your online presence in a changing search landscape.
Alongside strategy work, I help internal teams ladder into that strategy while offering mentorship and training on how to understand the impact of the work being carried out across digital PR, social and content marketing.

Leading the SEO channel for Freemans.com
During my time at Freemans I have endeavoured to improve the visibility and understanding of SEO within the business and how it impacts and can be impacted by other teams. This in turn, lead to buy-in for the changes I knew I would need to make.
I championed search beyond search engines within the business and introduced Freemans to how trends on social media could impact organic search and create a fuller customer funnel. A huge opportunity for a fashion retailer.

The role encompassed both account management and hands-on SEO delivery work. Working with clients in verticals such as ecommerce, student lets, gambling and B2B. From onboarding to retention, I was tasked with defining the SEO strategy, leading client calls and creating reporting dashboards to show the impact of our work. On larger accounts I would work alongside and brief junior team members on the work that needed to be carried out.
Clients Included: Decathlon, Rab, Lowe Alpine, Tower Pharmacy, D2L (international), Goodwin Racing, True Student Living and more.

Organic Growth – SEO & Social (In-House)
Owning and managing organic growth for the GO Outdoors brand across both SEO and social media. I was part of the business from their first £10k revenue week online through to their first £1 million revenue month and beyond, helping the website grow over my time there. The role included hands-on optimisation alongside harnessing relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies, and being the in-house consultant and champion for all SEO related matters.

Dog Friendly Sheffield
Owner (Personal Project)
Created and launched a website and social media community for dog owners in Sheffield and the nearby Peak District region. The website aims to list all the dog friendly locations in the area while working with local businesses to help promote them.
Creating this website in my spare time gave me chance to test out SEO theories while also working on areas of digital marketing that didn’t come into play in my day to day job such as social community growth and management and digital PR style outreach.
